Jeux d’Ombres – Joy Division et la postérité
◉ About: After the first conference in May last year in Geneva, Yann Courtiau presents a new conference in Lausanne: Jeux d’Ombres – Joy Division et la postérité
When the members of Joy Division looked out the window of their rehearsal room, all they saw of Manchester was desolation. But a window facing the street will never be worth an open door. With Joy Division, the door was that of perception and influences, a release towards the horizon, towards unknown pleasures; a one-way trip rewarded by a rich and astonishing posterity.
Jeux d’Ombres, a story about Ian Curtis, Joy Division, Factory Records and Manchester. Told in music by the actress Lola Giouse and the essayist Yann Courtiau through testimonies of Mark Burgess, Daniel Darc, Annick Honoré, Lavinia Greenlaw, Sylvia Patterson, Martin Rushent, Peter Saville, Marl Fisher… A story that is still being written, forty-four years after the death of Ian Curtis. (accompanied by rare images and videos)
