Since the late 70’s, the history of the local dark music scene in Switzerland has been developed, mostly based on the productions of Swiss-German and Swiss-French bands.
Nowadays this geographical representation is still similar, but regarding one genre, there has been a tendency in the Suisse Romande, specifically in Geneva, which has become a point of convergence, where some bands coincide in one musical common denominator: post-punk.
We refer to bands like Raskolnikov, Future Faces, Grey Lips, Haneke Twins and Coye. These acts propose a musical spectrum from original post-punk to fusion with elements of different styles. From the rawness of the English 70’s/80’s underground sounds to a more produced and current post-punk like the North American. All these, but made in Geneva.
In addition to these influences, the bands have an important and interesting characteristic, and that is the fact that even though they have the Geneva post-punk scene in common, each band sounds clearly different from the others. Each band presents their own music plan, which gives them a sound identity. So let’s experience the post-punk spectrum made in Geneva.
