Today, A Sinister Light released, via Cold Transmission Music, their self-titled debut EP, as well as the music video for “Closing in” – the opening track of the EP.
When two actors from the dark scene in Basel get together like Noir (Fabrizio Rozner aka Fabrice Noir – Noir Bizarre) and Blake (John Eastwood aka DJ Blake), you can expect something bizarre and sinister. And even better if the project is about producing dark music, since both are long-term collaborators in the darkwave, industrial and post-punk scenes in Switzerland and beyond.

A Sinister Light – Noir & Blake
And so, after a while of work, from today you can see the light at the end of the tunnel (video) and listen to the promising result of the debut EP. Four great songs loaded with a fascinating melodic dark electro, based on energetic driving synth lines and very cool vocal melodies and tunes. As well as cleverly combined EBM, industrial and post-punk elements.
The sound of A Sinister Light offers a cathartic glimpse into a mystical darkness where spirits are discerned and truth revealed. Noir and Blake are makers of suspense progressions with danceable outcomes. So next time you hear this sound at the club, hit the dance floor and get sinister.

Comment: “When light is mistaken for darkness like day from night, under a pale reflection of an eclipse, a sinister light, the only light is that which burns in the soul.”
Blake and Noir also surprise with their self-directed and edited music video for “Closing in”. The locations, the style, the adaptation in general to the song’s spirit is very well achieved and accomplished.
